JUNA NEWS AND RELEASE NOTES 8/01/25
News
If you’ve spoken with us at all in the past month or two you may have heard about our champion teacher in South Korea, KyungA Lee, who recently received her PhD from Seoul National University. In May, she published an article which uses both Juna and another product called English Accent Coach to demonstrate that HVPT (high variable phonetic training) is a superior language learning methodology. We are excited to be able to point to strong Juna-based pretest / posttest results in an established, open access academic journal. You can read the article for free here: https://www.mdpi.com/2226-471X/10/6/122
Release Notes
Easy access. Over the past several months, we’ve been hearing from users that it’s been difficult to get into Juna when we give them app-based or email-based access for free trials. We are excited to announce that for Android, we are now able to offer Juna in a much more simple way - as a product that is unlockable using a code on the main screen of the app. No more confusing instructions or expiration dates!
Updated dictionary definitions. We’d noticed that the definitions for words searched in the dictionary were not always coming out right, so for Android, we’ve switched to embedding Merriam-Webster’s interface for that section, so users will be able to see all the definitions, synonyms, idioms and other useful information.
Chromebook compatibility. We’ve fixed a lot of bugs and errors with chromebooks so that Juna now runs smoothly and will display correctly at any size or aspect ratio.
You may have noticed that these are all updates for Android users. We are working hard on perfecting these features and look forward to bringing iOS up to speed soon, as well as adding additional features and capabilities over the coming months.
We are always open to requests for features and feedback, please feel free to get in touch at contact@junaaccentcoach.com
Best,
The Juna Team
